Food 4 Kids

Only the beginning

Food 4 Kids The James H. Sweat Foundation started participating in the Food 4 Kids program in 2016. Since then we have prepared over 5000 sacks for Columbia County students, This program was started by Columbia County Connections where Pat Grice, the director, has been wonderful in the work she has been doing.

More than the Week

It’s simple, JHS provides students at 3 schools (Blue Ridge Elementary, Stevens Creek Elementary and Stallings Island Middle) with lunches for the weekend. Lunches Include noodles, cereal, oatmeal, pudding, applesauce, a fruit snack, and Kool-aid Jammers.

Going Beyond

We purchase the items to go in the sacks on Tuesday, make the sacks Wednesday nights for Thursday on delivery so that they can go home with the students on Friday. I know for a fact that these Saturday lunches are needed and utilized by those that receive them.
